Reiki & Energy Healing
Reiki & Energy healing
First Degree Reiki - The first degree Reiki course, sometimes given the Japanese name of Shoden ("初伝" in Japanese, meaning "Elementary/Entry Teachings"),teaches the basic theories and procedures. A number of "attunements" are given to the student by the teacher or via online attunement. Students learn hand placement positions on the recipient's body that are thought to be most conducive to the process in a whole body treatment. Having completed the first degree course, Reiki practitioners can then treat themselves and others with Reiki.
Second degree Reiki - In the second degree Reiki course, the student learns the use of a number of symbols that are said to enhance the strength and distance over which Reiki can be exerted. This involves the use of symbols to form a temporary connection between the practitioner and the recipient, regardless of location and time, and then to send the Reiki energy. Another attunement is given, which is said to further increase the capacity for Reiki to flow through the student, as well as empowering the use of the symbols. Having completed the second level, the student can work without being physically present with the recipient — a practise known as "distant healing".
Understanding Reiki Attunements
A Reiki attunement is the process by which a person receives the ability to give Reiki treatments. The attunement is administered by the Reiki Master during the Reiki class. During the attunement, the Reiki Master will touch the student's head, shoulders, and hands and use one or more special breathing techniques. The attunement energies will flow through the Reiki Master and into the student. These special energies are guided by the Higher Power and make adjustments in the students energy pathways and connect the student to the source of Reiki. Because the energetic aspect of the attunement is guided by the Higher Power, it adjusts itself to be exactly right for each student. During the attunement, some students feel warmth in the hands, others may see colors or have visions of spiritual beings. However, it is not necessary to have an inner experience for the attunement to have worked. Most simply feel more relaxed.
Can you have a Reiki attunement online?
Although many students do prefer to have their attunements offered in person by a Reiki Master, sometimes this is not always possible. We have had very good feedback from reiki students whom have only undergone attunements online. With this in mind when you have finished your Reiki Studies and are familiar with all the reiki hand positions you can click on the video below for your reiki attunment. Watch the self healing video below and practice every day for 21 days to really accept the energies.
